In the research network “The Failure of Knowledge – Knowledges of Failure,” fifteen scholars of American Studies and related disciplines are investigating the nexus of failure and knowledge, addressing such timely concerns as ‘the postfactual,’ climate-science denial, or the digital divide as well as historical questions such as the suppression of Indigenous knowledge systems. This website is intended to inform about the work of the network and to keep the public informed about the upcoming workshops and their results. The network is coordinated by Dr. Katharina Motyl (University of Mannheim) and the deputy coordinator Dr. Regina Schober (University of Mannheim). It is funded by the German Research Foundation and will run from February 2020 through January 2023.
